Busy Busy

Hi loyal readers! It's been a busy last three days, and I've just...not wanted to blog. I'm moving on to the "find a job, you bum" stage of post-graduation bliss, so that's kept me busy. But now it's 12 and I don't have anything huge to do tomorrow, so I'm going to live it up and stay up til I'm done with this blog! Crazy!

Anyway, the prompts areeee (get out your lottery tickets)
Day 31: Whatever tickles your fancy (Jan 18th)
Day 32: A photo you took (Jan 19th)
Day 33: What you’re craving right now (Jan 20th)

So, day 31 was going to be a post about fashion and things that I like, but I'm too lazy to do that now. Perhaps the next time my fancy is tickled. So instead I'm going to share something with you, that not many people know. It's not a secret because it's not that embarrassing. I love Dr. Seuss stories. Tonight I told my sisters that, if ever in a place to do so, I would have an entire sleeve tattoo of Dr. Seuss characters. There's just something so beautiful about the whimsical fuckery going on in those books that I love. The Lorax, for instance, is a tale about conservation and preservation. But as a kid you're just like "OMG THAT ONCELER GUY SUCKS BECAUSE THE TREES ARE GONE" and you don't understand what you're actually upset about is that industry destroyed the forest. I'm all about being green when it's convenient. I want to help save the environment but I'm not going to get all militant about it because I'm a lazy person (i'm all about the honesty today, apparently). I also love the Grinch. He's mean and snarky and grumpy, but then he goes and loses all his cool points when he saves christmas. But that's okay, because I probably wouldn't want a tattoo of the Grinch. Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose is someone i would have a tattoo of, because I like to think I'm like Thidwick. For those of you who don't know that story, Thidwick's this kick ass moose who's just chillin in the forest and then some bird is like 'um, can i live in your antlers?" and he's too nice to say no, and before you know it he's got a whole lot of critters living on him and he's too nice to tell them to fuck off. Anyway, eventually everyone realizes they're being jerks and do something nice for Thidwick by leaving and taking care of their own selves, but Thidwick now has all these nice new friends. The story itself is much better than the way I've made it sound, less about exploitation and loneliness, more about being a nice person and being rewarded for that. Those are the two stories that are my favorites, but I also really like Are You My Mother, because I used to have a video of the story being narrated with pictures from the book sort of animated as the story was read. it was a cool video and I really liked how he finally gets to his mom and how happy he is and all the yay and love that goes on there. It's heartwarming, okay!

Anyway, I'm going to spam you with photos now.

So this is Thidwick with all his friends. he looks miserable, but he's actually super cute when he's doing that whole smiling thing that moosen do so often.

Of course, this is the Lorax asking the Onceler to stop his shit right now and not waste the Truffula stuff on stupid unitard things with arms that connect to the legs because that doesn't make sense anatomically. (obviously the onceler is a jerk because he ignored the Lorax. How could you ignore someone with a sweet stache like that?)

How adorable is that little baby bird? VERY ADORABLE. That's how much.

Moving along, although I know everyone wants to stay in Dr. Seuss land forever...
I have to share a picture that I've taken.

This is midnight, my sister Amanda and brother-in-law Michael's dog. She is half black lab and half german shepard and allll adorableness. For all the bark she's got, she's the sweetest big dog I've ever met. She's one of my favorite subjects because she does the cutest things and sometimes she smiles :3

The next prompt is to talk about something I crave right now. If I'd written this this morning, that would be Chicken Tikka Masala. But I had that for dinner (finally) and now don't crave anything, except pickles because I love pickles and will always want one. Pickles and tuna fish. Mixed together or separate. Mmmmm tuna. Anyway, that's what I'm craving: Pickles, Tuna fish, and Chicken Tikka Masala (because really, I want it all the time too).

Til Tomorrow!

  2. My random thoughts:

    1. You need a thneed. They are super fashionable, and they tickle everyone's fancy. All the time.

    2. Thneeds remind me of snuggies.

    3. Delicious Blue Fin Tuna will probably end up going the way of the truffula (sp?)
