My fish is attacking the plant in the aquarium.

Hi Everybody! I am proving to be super unreliable. I think we can rely on that fact, at least. I got to spend time with Amanda thursday during the day and went to dinner with her, Michael, Dina and my Dad (Indian foooood. soooo gooooood). Yesterday I spent more time with Amanda and Michael and we went and saw the worst and most emo bullshit I've ever had the misfortune to hear. But at least we were out of the house, and my coat didn't get stolen this time so I'm okay with that. Anyway, like usual I'm going to write responses to multiple prompts :3 (the title has nothing to do with this post but I looked up and that's what Phineas was doing and I decided that would be my title)

Day 34: Your favorite quote

This would have been an incredibly short post. My favorite quote is "Semper Gumby, Megan" which is something my dad always tells me when things are rough or I'm overwhelmed or have to make big decisions. For those of you who are unfamiliar with latin, Semper means "forever" or "always". If you don't know who Gumby is....

This is Gumby. He is a children's toy that is super bendy and flexible. SO, put those two words together and you get... Always Flexible. Be pragmatic and willing to negotiate/compromise. There you have it folks, my favorite quote. <3

Day 35: A letter to an ex

Dear ex,
I don't really like using that term, since it makes it sound like you're anonymous, like "Mister. X" instead of "ex-boyfriend"... I will start over.

Dear Previous Boyfriend,
I'm sorry I slammed your fingers in the door after we watched Spice World. I honestly didn't see your fingers in the hinges...that was kind of stupid of you. Thank you for introducing me to peanut butter and honey sammiches, they are still one of my favorite things to eat for breakfast. Whenever I hear that backstreet boys song I think of you, and us holding hands while we skated around the roller rink. I wish that I had known my mom definitely knew I liked you, it would have saved me a lot of trouble. I'm also sorry that Dina and I forced you into a hero position when we would play on the jungle gym and that we would compete for you to save us. I shudder to think I needed someone to save me from woodchip lava, because I could have just made myself invincible instead of being a damsel in distress. Clearly you were distressed by all the pressure that we put on you. I'm also sorry for breaking up with you, although you were okay with that. I didn't know you liked boys until high school, although I think even then you had some kind of knowledge of it. Thanks for getting the "accidentally date a gay man" thing out of the way for me when we were in 4th grade, you probably saved me some grief. It's too bad that we didn't manage to stay friends, but you seem to be living a really awesome and fun life :) I'm happy that you were my 4th grade boyfriend, playground rescuer and fellow spice girl enthusiast
<3 Hugs and Kisses (but really all we did was hold hands)
Your 4th grade girlfriend

So there you have it folks, a letter to an ex. I don't know what people would expect, like some kind of hate-filled rant about why a relationship ended, or goopy "i'm sorry I hurt you" stuff. Maybe you guys expected me to do something silly, since I definitely don't want to share all the dirty details of my heartbreaking campaign towards world domination (you're next, Rupert Friend)
:3 <3 til tomorrow,

Busy Busy

Hi loyal readers! It's been a busy last three days, and I've just...not wanted to blog. I'm moving on to the "find a job, you bum" stage of post-graduation bliss, so that's kept me busy. But now it's 12 and I don't have anything huge to do tomorrow, so I'm going to live it up and stay up til I'm done with this blog! Crazy!

Anyway, the prompts areeee (get out your lottery tickets)
Day 31: Whatever tickles your fancy (Jan 18th)
Day 32: A photo you took (Jan 19th)
Day 33: What you’re craving right now (Jan 20th)

So, day 31 was going to be a post about fashion and things that I like, but I'm too lazy to do that now. Perhaps the next time my fancy is tickled. So instead I'm going to share something with you, that not many people know. It's not a secret because it's not that embarrassing. I love Dr. Seuss stories. Tonight I told my sisters that, if ever in a place to do so, I would have an entire sleeve tattoo of Dr. Seuss characters. There's just something so beautiful about the whimsical fuckery going on in those books that I love. The Lorax, for instance, is a tale about conservation and preservation. But as a kid you're just like "OMG THAT ONCELER GUY SUCKS BECAUSE THE TREES ARE GONE" and you don't understand what you're actually upset about is that industry destroyed the forest. I'm all about being green when it's convenient. I want to help save the environment but I'm not going to get all militant about it because I'm a lazy person (i'm all about the honesty today, apparently). I also love the Grinch. He's mean and snarky and grumpy, but then he goes and loses all his cool points when he saves christmas. But that's okay, because I probably wouldn't want a tattoo of the Grinch. Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose is someone i would have a tattoo of, because I like to think I'm like Thidwick. For those of you who don't know that story, Thidwick's this kick ass moose who's just chillin in the forest and then some bird is like 'um, can i live in your antlers?" and he's too nice to say no, and before you know it he's got a whole lot of critters living on him and he's too nice to tell them to fuck off. Anyway, eventually everyone realizes they're being jerks and do something nice for Thidwick by leaving and taking care of their own selves, but Thidwick now has all these nice new friends. The story itself is much better than the way I've made it sound, less about exploitation and loneliness, more about being a nice person and being rewarded for that. Those are the two stories that are my favorites, but I also really like Are You My Mother, because I used to have a video of the story being narrated with pictures from the book sort of animated as the story was read. it was a cool video and I really liked how he finally gets to his mom and how happy he is and all the yay and love that goes on there. It's heartwarming, okay!

Anyway, I'm going to spam you with photos now.

So this is Thidwick with all his friends. he looks miserable, but he's actually super cute when he's doing that whole smiling thing that moosen do so often.

Of course, this is the Lorax asking the Onceler to stop his shit right now and not waste the Truffula stuff on stupid unitard things with arms that connect to the legs because that doesn't make sense anatomically. (obviously the onceler is a jerk because he ignored the Lorax. How could you ignore someone with a sweet stache like that?)

How adorable is that little baby bird? VERY ADORABLE. That's how much.

Moving along, although I know everyone wants to stay in Dr. Seuss land forever...
I have to share a picture that I've taken.

This is midnight, my sister Amanda and brother-in-law Michael's dog. She is half black lab and half german shepard and allll adorableness. For all the bark she's got, she's the sweetest big dog I've ever met. She's one of my favorite subjects because she does the cutest things and sometimes she smiles :3

The next prompt is to talk about something I crave right now. If I'd written this this morning, that would be Chicken Tikka Masala. But I had that for dinner (finally) and now don't crave anything, except pickles because I love pickles and will always want one. Pickles and tuna fish. Mixed together or separate. Mmmmm tuna. Anyway, that's what I'm craving: Pickles, Tuna fish, and Chicken Tikka Masala (because really, I want it all the time too).

Til Tomorrow!

Awkward Zone avoided, mostly.

Hi there loverly readers! Today I'll be writing a letter to the friendliest person you knew for only one day. I'm not sure if that means I've only known them for a day and might meet them again, or someone I will never see again. I'm going to go with the former, since I haven't been in any situations that would involve me meeting someone and then never seeing them again. I did have jury duty once but I brought homework and was dismissed after 2 hours of waiting around...so yeah, moving on.

Dear Jared,
You are by far one of the nicest and sweetest children that I have ever met. I came over to visit with Bonnie, Sam and their bunny Ted. When you got off the bus and came into the house you were so excited to see Sam, and in that moment I wished I had a cute little brother too. But then you were introduced to me and I expected an awkward wave but you're a hugger like me and gave me a hug before asking if I like the Red Sox. I'm sorry I disappointed you, since I definitely don't follow baseball. You sat next to me while we waited for Ted to come out from the sofa and you told me all about the show that was on TV, although I don't remember what it was or why it was a children's show because it kind of scared me. Eventually you decided you wanted to show everyone how to play baseball, so you popped in MLB for Xbox360. Besides the fact that you made the opposite team bunt every time, you were a master of MLB, something I can never claim to be. But none of this has to do with why you are the most friendly person I've ever known for a day. I mean, it sort of does, but at the same time it doesn't capture just how nice and friendly and cute you were. You sat next to me comfortably, something most 10 year old boys wouldn't do, most likely because they would probably be fidgeting. You gave me hugs! More than one! I thought that was super nice, since you hugged everyone else and I think you thought I might feel left out. Anyway, you wanted to share what you liked with me, even though that show was terrifying and I don't like baseball. It was a valiant effort and the only reason I enjoyed it was because you were so earnest and nice about including me. So yeah, thanks for being an awesome kid :)

I have a lot of favorites.

So today it's going to be a beautiful colorful exciting day! Day 29's prompt is to provide the HEX code of my favorite color. The prompt provides a link to a color wheel thing, but I'm going to use Colourlovers (i made that a link if you wanna check it out) to share with you. Most likely I'll also use fotoshoop and make a nice little presentation of my favorites :3

Favorite color number one: #A6E3BB also known on colourlovers as "watery green" this is almost the exact color of the walls of my room. This is a kind of very light teal that is more green than blue. I quite love it :3

Second favorite: #1A8922 also known as "Agreenable" I'm a big fan of rich green.

Third favorite: #DBD1CC also known as "Tawny Birch" which is a very lovely grayish brown color.

Fourth favorite: #303030 also known as "Not Quite Black" which is a very dark gray :3

Fifth favorite: #A12C0F known as "Ganesha Stuti" but I think of it as "dark burnt orange" is...a dark burnt orange color. I have a tapestry in which Ganesha is this color, and it's a beautiful color. So there.

Sixth and final favorite: #5F0E35 also known as "Wine" which is...wine colored. Delicious.

So here's what I made in photoshop so you can see the colors!

Okay, so apparently photoshop's "best quality" setting for saving as a jpeg is total shit quality. That, and i can't actually have the image any bigger without it being cut off. But you can still see the colors :)
